Character Information: Camilla Flow

Name: Camilla Flow

Aliases/Nicknames: Milla, Cammy

Species: Human

Age: 27

Bio: Camilla grew up on a dairy farm outside Garevia, the daughter of a cheese maker and his wife. She had four older brothers who did most of the work on the farm, but she also assisted her father, and was very close to him. Her father taught her alongside her brothers how to do things like shooting a gun, driving farm equipment, and herding cattle, and Camilla grew up strong and independent. However, when her father’s debts caught up to them, she could do nothing but watch her parents slide into desperation and poverty. They sold the farm and moved to Garevia, and her brothers took off to pursue their own fortunes.

Camilla did her best to support her family, but as a woman found herself unable to earn enough money to support herself and her parents, who were slowly degrading, health-wise. Eventually she married a wealthy young man whose fortune was the result of money laundering. When he wound up being investigated by the government, he fled to Nieve with Camilla in tow. Camilla’s husband called in a few favors and got a job working as a bookie for a local mob boss. He had enemies, however, and asked the boss for some bodyguards. While one thug followed him around, Ladon Ceto kept an eye on Camilla because he was known for being a “gentleman,” which meant he was the least likely to try and sleep with her. Camilla bonded with Ladon, who grew more and more protective of her as he saw her more playful, gentle side beneath the cold shell she used to keep people at a distance, and when he learned about the ailing parents she sent money to on a monthly basis. Camilla’s marriage started to fall apart as the years passed and she was unable to conceive. Her husband started to physically abuse her, and when he found a new mistress, she feared for her life. After one particularly horrible fight, Camilla shot and killed her husband with the gun Ladon had modified for her to protect herself. She called Ladon, and he helped her dispose of the body, then took the blame for the murder when he contacted his boss.

Camilla has since used her late husband’s accounts to open her own maid service and has made good money as both a legitimate business woman and as a spy and blackmail operation. She hopes to leave Nieve once her “missing” husband is officially declared dead and she cashes in his life insurance policy.

Personality: Camilla’s first impression usually comes off as cold, aloof, and uncaring. She’s a very rigid and practical woman, and not given to sentimentality very often. This is mostly the wall that she constructs in order to keep people at a distance, due to the abandonment issues she has in terms of her brothers leaving her family behind, and the disappointment she suffered when she found out her parents weren’t as responsible as she thought they were. Throw in an abusive and deceptive relationship with her late husband, and Camilla has a lot of trust issues. She is a genuine, intelligent, and kind person deep down, with a lonely streak that only shows itself when she’s at her most vulnerable. Very few people have seen the “real” Camilla beneath her cold exterior, though.

Relationships:

Ladon Ceto: Good, if not complicated, friend. Ladon and Camilla have a strange relationship. They call each other by the nicknames they hate (Donnie and Cammy), bicker often, but are difficult to get between. Ladon, frankly, adores her and would do anything for her. Camilla is aware of this, and while she feels similarly, she knows there’s something off about Ladon. While she doesn’t know he’s not human, she does know he can use magic, and that frightens her. On top of that, she’s not interested in getting involved with another mobster, nor does she want someone tying her down to Nieve. She does love him, but not enough to ignore her past or deny herself a future.

Cleo Demore (as Anna): Employee, friend. The only other person to get a glimpse at the real Camilla is Anna, who she confides in often. Anna understands and encourages her wanderlust, and appreciates her need to strike out on her own and make a life for herself. They’re friends that relate to each other on a fundamental level, despite the fact that Camilla doesn’t know who and what Anna really is.

Conrit Ceto: Ladon’s little brother. Camilla finds him after a fight in the alley, takes him back to her office, and locates Ladon for him. She’s intrigued by his similarity to Ladon, and becomes more protective of him as she spends time with him and Violette.
